Church Orphan Home

Jungo Church Orphan Home is located in Nakauka in Wakiso District, not far from Kampala, capital of Uganda.

Uganda is in the midst of difficult recovery from decades of war, the devastating impacts of HIV / AIDS pandemic, and the threat of constant internal combat and conflict. It is home to over 120,000 displaced persons, including 28,000 children, most of them orphaned or abandoned.
These children survive by traveling around, sleeping on the city streets where they feel safer from abduction, or by wandering together in nomadic groups. Kids that have been orphaned by AIDS are in even more desperate situation: they are often forsaken by all.
The Jungo Church Orphan Home is so much more than just a shelter. The construction was finished and the dedication was celebrated on March 17th 2011.

Soon after, over twenty recently-recued orphans moved into the home. Here, often for the first time in their lives, they experience the safety, love and support, of their new “family”. They are cared for by a new “mom” – a widow from Jungo Church congregation who lives with them, and other women from the church who come throughout the day to help. The church pastor and his family also live in the home, providing constant guidance and communicating the love of Jesus in every moment. Only His love can heal the wounds these kids have experienced.
God has already provided for the construction cost, beds, and very precious solar panels that supply power to the building. What is still desperately needed is water! With no well or filtration system, the caretakers have to travel daily several miles to fetch and bring water to the home. And, of course, these kids need what all kids need in addition to love and support: food, clothing and school supplies.
Would you pray about how your family, church, or small group could step in as part of this family to help support them? The Jungo Church Orphan Home can accommodate up to 50 children; all we need is more funds to provide for them!
