Chiang Mai

Mercy For Orphans Home

Chiang Mai is the largest city and most culturally significant province in Thailand. It is a major tourist center, with more than 1 million annual visitors, but the disease and poverty have severely impacted many of the region’s villages.

An estimated 1 million Thai children are left to fend for themselves after their parents have been torn from their families by the effects of hunger and disease. With no security or opportunity for education, many are left to only hope for a better future. Listening to these children, you hear a heartbreakingly similar story…

“There is no school in my village and I have no opportunity to study. My hope is that I will someday have the chance to attend school.”

“My mother disappeared and my father is deceased. There is no school near my village.”

“My village is a three-day walk from any large town where there is a school or hospital. I have great hopes that I will be

able to go to school.”

These orphans have nowhere to go, no one to care for them, and no opportunity for education. From their village in the Chiang Mai province, it takes three days to walk to the nearest town where there is a school or a hospital. With education at such a distance, most of the children in this village never get the opportunity to go to school and study. It is their dream, their great hope that they will one day have the opportunity to study.

The Chiang Mai Church Orphan Home is a response to these orphans’ hopes. Local widows will open their arms to orphaned children in the community. Here, they will be cared for, loved, protected, and given opportunities for a brighter future. With education finally made accessible and local, the community will be forever changed.

Will you join us as we build the Chiang Mai Church Orphan Home and welcome these children into a stable, loving environment?
