Pakistan is a hotbed of conflict, with clashes between Islamic groups and the government. There are suicide bombings and killings associated with terrorism. In such antagonistic settings deeply rooted hostility against Christians thrives; and the violence is escalating.
Although Pakistan's constitution grants religious freedom, Sharia law rules, and Christians suffer. A Pakistani woman who dares to marry a Christian man brings trouble not only on herself, but on her entire family as well. It is not uncommon for Muslims to kidnap and execute the newlyweds and their family members.
If Christian girl is abducted and forced to marry to a Muslim, the authorities may not be very
quick in providing help for the girl's family to search for the missing girl.
If a Pakistani man is open about his Christian faith, he may be beaten and brutalized and his business would be sabotaged too. Although the Pakistani High Court has ordered Muslims to stop these cruel practices, some believe that bribing of the local police allows these anti-Christian practices to persist.
In the midst of this escalating violence, the children are the silent witnesses of persecution and terror. Homes are destroyed, churches burned down, and Christians martyred. Orphaned children are left without anyone; alone and without hope.
Warm Blankets Orphan Care is striving to offer an island of hope in this sea of despair. We are planning to establish fifteen Mercy Homes in Pakistan, including this one. Rescued orphans are welcomed here where they receive love and hope for a better future.
Will you join with us in caring for the children of the Dallah Mercy Home? Life in Pakistan is turbulent, but with your help, we can restore their childhoods and provide a safe and stable home.
