Ephraim

Church Orphan Home

This home is located in the Namanjalala community, in the Rift Vally Province of Kenya. Kitale is the closest major city .

The Ephraim Church Orphan Home was dedicated in January, 2010 and is now home to several orphaned children who have lost their parents to war or disease. In the last few years there has been an increase in the number of orphans in Kenya.

Extreme violence erupted after election results in 2008. Tens of thousands of people were affected and the resulting tension between the various tribal factions has not yet fully subsided.

The following year, 2009, a deadly famine left millions starving. By June of 2009 hundreds if not thousands of people were dying daily; men, women and children. The effects of these tragedies are still being felt by those left behind.

The beginning

of 2010 saw the dedication of the Ephraim Church Orphan Home. We believe that it is a sign of better times ahead for the orphan children in the Namanjalala community. They now have a safe home to call their own; living in a family atmosphere where the church community is their new, extended family.

Come and see the smiling faces of the children who have a new lease on life because of the generous support of people like you. Thank you.
