Currently under construction, the Bosnia Church Orphan Home will house up to 50 orphans and their caregivers; while also serving as the meeting place for a local church. The approximately 40 orphans of the Bosnia community are cared for by widows, and elderly grandmothers and grandfathers. Pastor David Barasa trained for 2 years in Bible school, and has been serving in Bosnia for the past 8 years.
Bosnia suffers from a lack of food, clean water and enough resources to sustain its congested population. The plague of HIV/AIDS has caused many deaths and laborers are also scarce as those with often HIV/AIDS are weakened to the point where they are too sick to work. People depend on food
relief and laboring on the nearby farms to get by. The children often don't get the chance to go to school as it is too expensive.
Kenya is a republic that has been marred by scandals of government corruption. In recent times, violence has broken out over election results. Opposing parties are accusing each other of election fraud. Fighting has broken out in the streets.
These orphans need a safe place to live, protected from the dangers of AIDS, political strife, poverty, malnutrition and disease. Life is tough, but as these children are cared for with compassion and love, under the strong foundation of Christ, they blossom.
You can be a part of the rescue and care efforts, such as helping them to get enough to eat or with going to school. We welcome you in partnering with us saving the lives of these defenseless yet precious children.
