Life in India can appear very exciting for a tourist passing by, and certainly is that way for the wealthy of the country. With its growing young population and booming business, especially in technology and hospitality industry – it produces more new millionaires than most other countries of the world.
Their lives, however don’t tell the entire story of the nation. Overwhelming poverty on the other side of the spectrum creates an ever-widening gap between the rich and poor. Tumultuous relations with neighboring Pakistan and China, rising HIV rates, and deeply ingrained cultural discrimination make this beautiful nation a challenging place – especially for vulnerable children.
For orphans in India, life is filled with uncertainty and hopelessness. They’ve experienced the loss of their parents from diseases like tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. They’ve been left to care for themselves, struggling to survive as they build lives on their own.
The Atchapuvalasa Church Home rescued these children and welcomed them with opened arms to be part of their family. They were welcomed with open arms. Here they enjoy growing together with more than twenty new brothers and sisters nurtured and cared for by dedicated Christian caregivers.
Their new home was built on a beautiful, 7 acres, together with a church building and a resource center right next to it. It is the heart of growing in their village Christian community. The kids have opportunity to study the Bible and learn many useful skills right within the safety of the Center, but for the formal education they attend a public school in nearby Veeraghattam. This combination allows them to grow within best Biblically based moral values and stay connected and reach out to the rest of population at the same time.
With your help, we can sustain this family of orphans and widows. In fact, when you get involved with the Atchapuvalasa Church Orphan Home, you will become a part of their long-distance family. You will watch the kids grow, your gifts will absolutely change their lives… and your life, too!
