Church Orphan Home

The children at the Narsingolu Church Orphan home attend school at Arunodaya Public School. There they are taught subjects such as english, math, science, social studies, and hindi.

Children are starving across India. An abysmal record of childhood hunger has been followed the nation for decades. Despite a recent history of booming economic growth, India is still ranked as one of the worst countries in the world for child malnutrition. Even in the most promising Indian state is still classified as having a “serious” hunger problem.

The good intentions of the government are producing little fruit. The national hunger initiative, the largest child feeding program in the world, has barely made a dent in the ever-climbing count of hungry children.

Children at the Narsingolu Church Orphan Home have been rescued from the uncertainty and fear of hunger. Before

the children arrive at the home, they have lived in terrible conditions. To meet basic survival needs, after losing their parents, they were compelled to beg for food. Previously left to scavenge for food and shelter, they are now welcomed into a home with a solid, dependable meal schedule. They slowly gain back a sense of food security.

A recently released international report pleads that, “improving child nutrition is of utmost urgency in most Indian states.” Inadequate access to food, poor feeding practices, and poor childcare practices all contribute to the escalating problem. The rise in global food prices is only deepening the issue.

At the Narsingolu Church Orphan Home, we are taking steps against hunger and you can be a part of this. When you care for this home, you guarantee food security in the face of uncertainty. For these children, you are a hand of hope in the middle of despair.
